Registered Nurse

 

Are you a nurse who wants to truly make a difference in the lives of the patients you serve?  At the Bowen Health Psychiatric Inpatient Hospital, you will be responsible for providing psychiatric nursing services to a variety of patients who need you.  Our hospital is a 20-bed acute-care psychiatric hospital. Essential Duties for RN at Bowen Health Inpatient Hospital:

  • Assessment and Coordination: Demonstrate the ability to assess and coordinate care for patients' physical and behavioral health needs.
  • De-escalation and Least Restrictive Interventions: Model de-escalation skills and a commitment to least restrictive interventions.
  • Care Planning: Develop and implement nursing care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Task Delegation: Delegate and assign tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel, ensuring seamless patient care.
  • Medication Administration: Accurately administer and document responses to medications in adherence to established protocols.
  • Infection Control: Adhere to all precautions and infection control measures, prioritizing patient and staff safety.
  • Communication: Communicate and promptly notify providers of changes in patient status.
  • Therapeutic Rapport: Maintain therapeutic rapport and demonstrate a commitment to Trauma-Informed care.
  • Leadership: Provide leadership during behavioral health emergencies.
  • Admission and Discharge Processes: Complete admission and discharge processes with accuracy and in a timely manner.

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Education: BSN preferred.
  • Experience: Registered Nurse License in the State of Indiana.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50lbs and assist with 100lbs. Ability to participate in physical skills according to CPI training and provide physical intervention for restraints and seclusion.
  • Shifts: Hospital shifts are 12 hours.
  • Scheduling: All nurses are required to work rotating weekends and holidays.

There are options for exemption applications, but approval is not always guaranteed.
