DESCRIPTION OF WORK

 

As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning, directing, evaluating, supervising, and providing nursing services at Selinsgrove Center. In this role, you will be accountable for the development, implementation, and monitoring of the treatment of assigned individuals under the supervision of the Nurse Manager. Your duties will include directing staff in the provision of health and related services, as well as planning and organizing work to ensure comprehensive nursing services are provided. You can expect to monitor, provide and direct nursing services and related health maintenance and restoration activities. Additionally, you will participate in the development, review, training, and implementation of the center’s policies and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work every other weekend.
  • Overtime as needed
  • Free parking!
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
     

Special Requirements:

  • All positions require active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Legal Requirements: 

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
