Salary Range: $19.23 to $26.44 an hour
Position Overview:
OCEANAIR, a leading global provider of international transportation logistics, is seeking an experienced Customs House Brokerage Entry Writer to streamline the customs process for our international operations. This person will be essential in ensuring a smooth clearance process, with a strong focus on compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will possess meticulous attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of customs regulations and compliance requirements.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Classify goods according to Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) clarification and valuation of merchandise
- Prepare and process import documentation according to customs regulations.
- Clear goods through customs and arrange for the delivery of goods to the designated destination as per the client agreement
- Monitor and trace the location of goods
- Must have a proactive approach to staying current with industry changes and updates
- Utilize product database to document and request necessary documents

Skills & Qualifications:
- 1-3 years’ experience with Customs House Brokerage is preferred
- Strong knowledge of customs compliance regulation
- Accurate and concise data entry of client shipment detail and updates to shipment
- Highly organized, detail oriented, ability to handle multiple projects and changing priorities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office
Work Environment
- Work is performed in an office environment where there is no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
- Sensory Essential Functions include close work, visual examination of paperwork, computer monitor and keyboard use, conversations, telephone and background noise.
- Ability to carry, lift, push or pull up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods with occasional walking, squatting and twisting.
