About the Role
Looking for a part-time job that actually fits your class schedule? Come be the friendly face of our Akron office. You will say hello to visitors, help our team stay organized, and pick up real workplace experience along the way. Morning hours mean your afternoons stay free for class, clubs, or catching up on sleep. No experience required, just a great attitude and a willingness to learn.
The Basics
- Location: AES Campus, Akron, OH (this one is in person, so you will get to know the whole team)
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., built around a class-friendly morning shift
- Flexibility: Occasionally stay a bit later on event days, we will always give you a heads up
- Pay: $15.00 per hour
What You Will Get Up To
Be the Welcoming Face of the Office
- Greet visitors, employees, and guests with a warm smile, first impressions matter
- Answer phones and emails, and point people in the right direction
- Keep the front desk and lobby looking sharp and organized
- Keep an eye on office and kitchen supplies and restock when needed
Keep the Mail Moving
- Receive, sort, and hand off incoming mail and packages
- Prep and coordinate outgoing mail and shipments
- Order office supplies and keep track of deliveries
Help Meetings and Events Run Smoothly
- Set up and clean up conference rooms for meetings
- Coordinate catering or refreshments when meetings call for it
- Lend a hand with planning and logistics for company events and employee gatherings
- Help with setup and breakdown for events, which may mean staying a bit later than usual
Build Real Office Skills
- Provide general administrative support to our executive and corporate teams, great resume material
- Support internal communications, like posting notices, updating bulletin boards, or sharing announcements
What We Are Looking For in You
- A positive attitude and a genuine interest in helping people
- Solid communication skills, in person, on the phone, and over email
- Good organizational skills and an eye for detail
- Comfortable juggling a few tasks at once and prioritizing on the fly
- Comfortable with standard office software (Microsoft Office or similar)
- No prior office experience needed, we will teach you what you need to know
- Reliable and punctual, with the flexibility to occasionally stay a bit later on event days
