Event Coordinator & Executive Assistant
Event Coordinator & Executive Assistant — Part-Time Board & Brush Quad Cities | Davenport, IA Approximately 5 flexible hours/week | $15/hour + performance bonuses | 90-day pilot About the Role
Board & Brush Quad Cities is looking for a resourceful, self-motivated person to work directly with the owner on event development, local partnerships and special projects.
The primary focus of this role will be helping us grow our private in-studio events and Brought to You program - Board & Brush workshops hosted at local businesses and organizations throughout the Quad Cities. You'll research potential partners, come up with event ideas that make sense for their audience, start conversations, follow up and help turn great opportunities into booked events.
You'll also have the opportunity to support the owner with research, follow-up, event promotion, organization and special projects as time and business needs allow.
This isn't a role where every step will always be mapped out for you. We're looking for someone who enjoys hearing "Here's what we're trying to accomplish—figure out how we can make it happen."

- Research local businesses, organizations and potential community partners.
- Develop creative event and partnership ideas.
- Reach out to prospective partners by email, phone, social media and occasional in-person visits.
- Build relationships and follow up consistently.
- Help move opportunities from idea to confirmed event.
- Coordinate details and support promotion of scheduled events.
- Identify additional private, corporate/team-building and partnership opportunities.
- Keep leads, follow-ups and results organized.
- Assist the owner with research, follow-up, marketing support and special projects as time allows.

This position averages approximately 5 flexible hours per week. Much of the work can be completed remotely, but this is a local Quad Cities role and will include occasional visits to businesses, partner meetings and other community outreach.
Reliable transportation is required.
Additional paid opportunities to work Board & Brush events may also be available based on interest, availability and business needs.

Who We're Looking For
Experience matters, but initiative, judgment and follow-through matter more.
You'll probably thrive in this role if you're organized, resourceful, comfortable starting conversations, able to work independently and the kind of person who sees an opportunity and wants to figure out what to do with it.
Prior experience in administrative support, customer service, sales, marketing, events, business development or another role requiring independent responsibility and follow-through is preferred.
A college degree is not required.
This could be a great fit for someone early in their career, returning to the workforce, changing careers or looking for flexible professional work where they can make a measurable impact.
About the 90-Day Pilot
This is a newly created position launching as a 90-day pilot as we intentionally grow our off-site event and business-development efforts.
We're looking at more than sales. We'll also evaluate the relationships and opportunities created, what we learn about the local market and how successfully the role creates additional capacity for the owner.
If the pilot is successful, there is real opportunity for the position, hours and responsibilities to continue and grow. Continued employment beyond the initial 90 days is not guaranteed.
