Assistant Director Dayspring

JOB TITLE: Assistant Director, Dayspring Community Center

FLSA: Exempt  

DEPARTMENT: Community Services

REPORTS TO: Director, Dayspring Community Center

LOCATION: Yonkers, NY

SALARY: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 

 

SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director, Dayspring Community Center, the Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the full-service operations of the Dayspring Community Center. The Assistant Director assists with the development, implementation, and operations of the Dayspring Community Center that supports the Nodine Hill neighborhood. The Assistant Director will provide oversight and coordination of the various programs and community partners participating in the community center in the absence of the Director. The Assistant Director will supervise staff; coordinate and oversee on-site services provided, and maintain the Community Center’s program effectiveness during the late-afternoon, evening, and weekend hours of operation. Proof of COVID-19 vaccine is required.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the Director in managing and coordinating the Dayspring Community Center
  • Oversees program operations during the late-afternoon, evening, and weekend hours of operation
  • Assists with supervising on site youth, employment, community, and immigrant community inclusion service activities including Teen Center programming and Community Service events
  • Aids in the supervision, evaluation, and direct support to the Operations team in tandem with the Director of the Dayspring Community Center
  • Assures in delivering quality of services to all the participants, volunteers, and community members
  • Ensures programs requirements and compliance goals, in relation to regulations and performance standards as set forth by grants, funders, and/or operative requests.
  • Develops relevant documentation necessary for tracking program performances and compliances
  • Reviews operational policies and procedures while developing programmatic goals with the Director
  • Manages the Community Center’s marketing strategies while working with the Communications Manager
  • Works alongside the Volunteer Coordinator to support the Volunteer engagement activities at the Community Center
  • Acts as a liaison with outside associations, agencies, constituents, and local officials
  • Facilitate workshops, groups, and service meetings when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Related and/or applicable experience working with children, families, community-based organizations preferred. Strong relationship building skills required. Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable. Ability to work independently but know when to raise issues to supervisor. Excellent organizational and time management skills necessary. Ability to effectively multi-task and follow-up on a timely basis. Advanced knowledge of MS Suite and database management skills.
