Civil Engineering Technician/Junior Civil Engineer

CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN/JUNIOR CIVIL ENGINEER

Bergeron Technical is seeking a full-time civil engineering technician or junior engineer to join our team in Conway, NH.  Bergeron Technical Services currently provides land surveying, civil engineering, fire code, building code, and land use consultation services.  This position will work with our licensed civil engineer on various projects including municipal, commercial, and residential design projects. Bergeron Technical Services offers flexible schedules and the possibility for setting up a part-time remote schedule. Civil Technical/Junior Engineer Requirements:

 

  • 1-3 years’ experience working in civil engineering and civil drafting
  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering is a plus
  • EIT or desire to obtain EIT is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revue
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD or CAD related software such as AutoCAD Civil3D or Carlson Civil Suite.
  • HydroCAD experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of site design, infrastructure including road, driveway and parking lot design, utilities such as water and sewer infrastructure design and drainage analysis.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
  • Have a valid driver’s license

 

Responsibilities:

  • This position will work directly with licensed civil engineers to provide documents as necessary for our civil design projects
  • Drafting site plans, civil plans including grading and drainage plans, detail drawings, septic designs
  • Perform calculations, develop reports and specifications, assist with project cost estimates
  • Review and understand local and state land use regulations
  • Work independently on projects with direction and supervision by a licensed civil engineer
  • Work creatively on complex projects, and coordinate projects with other departments
  • Work well with other members of our staff, our clients, government agency staff, and the public.
  • Perform or assist with Land Use Analyses and reports
  • Prepare and convey construction cost estimates
  • Preform on site tasks and duties including site walks, test pits and percolation tests construction observations and testing.
