INTERNAL TITLE: Title III Grant and Data Assistant
EXTERNAL TITLE Data Analyst
DIVISION: Student and Academic Services
BASIC FUNCTION: This position will provide support for the Title III grant and data visualization and utilization across campus.
SUPERVISOR: This position will work under the supervision of the Title III grant Program Director and Activity Director for the successful completion of projects related to the grant.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required – Clerical diploma or degree in office management, business or related field or two or more years office work experience.
Preferred – Community college experience. Bachelor’s degree. Excel or PowerBI or SQL or other data visualization experience.
DESIRED QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS:
- Possess excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills as well as organizational skills.
- Able to take initiative and work with a high degree of accuracy in a detail-oriented position with multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other advanced computer programs.
- Demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to Northwest Iowa Community College.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the confidential office assistant for Title III staff within the Title III grant.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, curriculum, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, and other documents efficiently and accurately.
- Advanced technical skills, particularly with data management and Excel or PowerBI and responsibility for data visualization assistance.
- Utilize SQL or Ellucian SIS for pulling and merging data.
- Record minutes for various meetings of Title III staff, Task Forces, Evaluation Teams, and other Title III activities as requested.
- Work with minimal supervision, organizing and prioritizing daily work.
- Maintain calendars including meetings and appointments.
- Maintain office supply inventory necessary for Title III activities.
- Receive and direct incoming calls.
- Enter purchase orders, write requests for payment, and maintain budgets as needed.
- Prepare and maintain filing system of all documentation.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (CONTINUED):
- Distribute mail and other communications daily to appropriate recipients.
- Assist with the preparation of local, state, and federal reports as directed.
- Keep Title III staff informed of office, campus, and community activities and concerns.
- Promote and maintain open communication with personnel and college staff.
- Attend conferences and workshops taking an active part in staff development.
- Actively participate in college committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Employment term: This position is funded through the Title III grant. Employment is contingent upon continued funding and will conclude when the grant period ends, unless additional funding is secured.

O Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc. (5 ft. height)
N Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces, such as roofs, catwalks, etc.
F Repetitive Motion: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
F Visual Acuity: View computer and/or close visual work less then 18” of distance.
N Travel: Transportation to on-and off-campus facilities, agencies, businesses, etc., may be required. (Position may require individual to provide own transportation in addition to NCC provided transportation.)
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
None. Worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Conditions are those of a typical office. Work is expected to be confined to indoor activities with the exception that the individual may be required to go to other parts of the campus or sites off campus.

WAGE/SALARY RANGE: Salary dependent upon experience and education.
EMPLOYMENT TERM: This position is funded through the Title III grant. Employment is contingent upon continued funding and will conclude when the grant period ends, unless additional funding is secured.
