The Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is seeking a full‑time (37.5 hours/week) HVAC Technician (PCN 153645) for the CT Mental Health Center (CMHC) in New Haven.

Schedule

First shift: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM

• Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week

Position Highlights

Performs highly skilled HVACR work in accordance with trade practices and codes on heating, ventilation, cooling, and refrigeration systems

Operates, maintains, installs, and repairs complex HVACR systems, including equipment using Freon, chilled water, and advanced air-handling components

Monitors and troubleshoots computerized control systems, ensuring proper airflow, pressurization, and system performance

Independently plans and executes work, including estimating materials, determining cooling requirements, and completing technical tasks with minimal supervision

Interprets technical data such as psychrometric charts and performs diagnostic tasks including minor fuel tests, gas leak checks, and water treatment adjustments

A comprehensive medical examination, including drug screening, is required following a conditional offer of employment. All state employees must comply with Connecticut’s Drug‑Free Workplace Policy.
