Salary Range/Pay Rate: $20.17 to $25.60/hour (commensurate with certification and experience.

The County is currently accepting applications for part-time and full-time PARAMEDIC, EMT or AEMT. This position performs skilled work including patient assessment, interpretation of EKGs, administration of IV fluids and drugs, and endotracheal intubation; and works in accordance with established medical protocols; shift rotation, 12 hour shifts.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum qualifications include high school diploma; completion of a prescribed course of education to meet the requirements for credentialing as a Paramedic, EMT or AEMT; certification as a Paramedic, EMT or AEMT issued by the NC Office of Emergency Medical Services; NIMS compliance with current standards as outlined in local compliance document; and a valid driver’s license. Other certifications may be considered with the ability to obtain the required Paramedic credential within 18 months to maintain employment.
Signing bonus: Available only to those newly hired full time employees who are already a credentialed NC Paramedic or credentialed NC AEMT in pursuit of NCOEMS Paramedic Credential at the time of hire and will be payable as follows: 1) 25% after completing EMS Division Orientation; 2) 25% after completing Local ALS credentialing; 3) 50% after completing County probationary period; 4) Entire bonus paid by 270 days. Must not have been employed by the County in the last 12 months in any capacity. Must sign a contract with the County for 18-month commitment or repay bonus.
