Position Title: HR Generalist

Reports to:                            Director of Human Resources, Hopkinsville, Mexico, and Canada 

Department:                          Human Resources 

Location:                               Hopkinsville, KY 

Job Summary

The HR Generalist general duties include, but are not limited to, performing salary and benefits administration, staffing, terminations, coordinating training, co-leading employee relations and employee services, and ensuring compliance with legal and corporate guidelines. This position will also work closely with the management team to tailor HR solutions to support business strategies and new developments. The HR Generalist must possess attention to detail, initiative, ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and adapt to a changing business environment. 

Typical duties and responsibilities

  • Implements human resources programs by providing human resources services, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health & welfare benefits, training and development, records management, succession planning, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance, and labor relations. 
  • Ensures company complies with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; advising management on needed actions.
  • Supervise and coordinate company new hire and random drug screen programs.
  • Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, & civil rights complaints under supervision of the Director of Human Resources
  • Manages unemployment process to include preparation for and participation in compensation hearings and appeals.
  • Facilitates and/or provides training (including new hire orientation) to the workforce. 
  • Oversee administration of the relocation process and immigration administration.
  • Responsible for managing and executing the bi-weekly payroll process for company workforce.
  • Administers all company employee benefit programs including vendor selection & management, all employee benefit plan to include medical, dental, vision, 401K, STD, LTD, FMLA, vacation and PTO & program billing, and resolution of all employee benefit program administration items that are identified through employees, management, and/or insurance companies/vendors.
  • Provides various Recruitment activities including recruiting, reviewing applications & interviewing applicants to match experience with specific job-related requirements for entry level, professional, and technical job openings. 
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; Additionally, works with supervisors to communicate various laws, standards and government regulations. 
  • Prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual. 
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge / Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years Human Resources experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Human Resources certification beneficial
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Labor and social law knowledge
  • Experience with Human Resources systems
