Middle School Science Teacher

Title:                          Middle School Science Teacher                   

Job Location:            Paw Paw Middle School (grades 6 – 8)

Reports to:                Paw Paw Middle School Principal

Job Type:                   Full-time 

 

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree
  • Possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate with (DX), (DI), (ZD), or (ZL) endorsement.
  • Successful experience teaching MS Science (preferred)
  • Experience working with at-risk students (Preferred)
  • Multiple endorsements (preferred)

 

Job Description:                

  • Responsible for instructing students in 6th – 8th grades, concentrating in Science
  • Maintain proper classroom management                        
  • Administer group-standardized tests in accordance with the district testing program
  • Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports to advance student achievement
  • Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction, develop lesson plans and instructional materials, and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
  • Understand and appreciate diversity
  • Maintain communications with students, parents, staff, and the community
  • Participate in district professional development programs as required
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning
  • Any other duties assigned by the Principal, and/or designee
