Electrical Superintendent (IC)

BW Industrial Construction is seeking an Electrical Superintendent contractor, in Houston, TX, who has travel flexibility, and will be responsible for overseeing the team and implementing the installation of electrical systems. You will manage work sequencing, interpret blueprints and schematics, and ensure safe and timely completion of all projects. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, and our ideal candidate possesses significant prior experience organizing and administering multiple crews on large work sites. You should have ample experience with installation and construction processes, as well as experience with blueprint reading, electrical schematics, wiring, conduit work, and thorough knowledge of workplace safety practices.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise electrical work on-site, including installations, wiring, and system testing.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely material delivery and labor availability.
  • Enforce compliance with federal, state, and local electrical codes, as well as OSHA safety regulations.
  • Oversee a team of electricians and apprentices, providing direction and resolving technical issues.
  • Review blueprints, specifications, and schedules to ensure accurate execution of electrical scope.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and implement solutions efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, including daily logs and reports.
  • Communicate effectively with clients or client representatives as needed.
     

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical construction, preferably industrial construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, National Electrical Code (NEC), and construction processes. Electrician certification.
  • Proven ability to manage crews of 5-20 workers on projects up to $100M.
  • Valid journeyman or master electrician license preferred (state-specific where applicable).
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and using project management tools; including experience using BlueBeam and AutoCAD
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, small-team environment with limited resources.
  • OSHA-30 Training certification
  • Flexible to support project assignments in different locations, depending on business and project requirements.
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.

 

Contractor Classification

This is a 1099 independent contractor role, not a W‑2 employment position. However, BW Industrial Construction strives to grow our teams and continuously evaluates future business needs to determine whether a separate direct‑hire role is warranted; however, no guarantee or promise of employment is made or implied.
