Dog Walker Pet Sitter
Woofie’s of Evanston–North Shore is seeking reliable, caring, and responsible Dog Walkers / Pet Sitters to join our growing team. We are a locally owned, community-focused business that values teamwork, trust, and high-quality care — for both pets and our team.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working independently, staying active, and making a difference for pets and their families.
Service Area
Our core service area includes:
Evanston, Wilmette, Winnetka, Kenilworth, Glencoe, Glenview, and Northbrook,
as well as surrounding North Shore communities including Highland Park, Deerfield, Lake Forest, Lincolnshire, Highwood, Fort Sheridan, Techny, and Riverwoods, IL.
Schedule
- Part-time, flexible hours
- Walks may take place between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM
- Weekend availability is highly desired
- Opportunities for overnight pet sitting may also be available
- Visit times may vary based on client needs
Compensation
$20–$25 per hour, depending on experience and assignment type
Responsibilities
- Walk and care for dogs and other household pets in all weather conditions
- Ensure pet safety, comfort, and well-being at all times
- Feed pets and refresh water as needed
- Administer medications when required (training provided)
- Clean up after pets during walks and visits
- Provide attentive, dependable, and compassionate care
- Communicate visit updates to clients through our scheduling app
- Coordinate as needed with the Woofie’s office team
- Assist with in-home pet sitting when owners are away
Requirements
- Comfortable handling dogs of varying sizes and temperaments
- Prior pet care experience preferred, but not required (training provided)
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and communication skills
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and a good driving record
- Smartphone required for scheduling, navigation, and client communication
- Ability to work independently in clients’ homes and outdoors
