Direct Support Professional (DSP)

At Person First Supportive Services (PFSS), our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are at the heart of everything we do. We believe in empowering individuals of all abilities to live meaningful, connected, and independent lives. As a DSP, you’ll provide one-on-one support to children, young adults, and families—helping them build skills, confidence, and community connections through evidence-based and strength-focused approaches.

What You’ll Do

Support participants in achieving personal goals in home, school, employment, and community settings.

Encourage growth and independence through creative, hands-on learning experiences.

Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and communication logs.

Work collaboratively with caregivers, teachers, and PFSS professionals.

Represent PFSS with professionalism, integrity, and compassion.

What We’re Looking For

A caring and reliable person with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in related fields preferred).

Experience working with children, teens, or adults with special needs.

Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all settings.

Preferred but Not Required

Coursework or degree in special education, social work, child development, or related field.

State of Wisconsin Certified Direct Support Professional (DSP) training.
