POSITION: Turf Management Internship
FACILITY: UPMC Ball Park
REPORTS TO: Head Groundskeeper
HOURY RANGE: Paid Opportunity / Complementary housing available
DURATION: Summer 2026: May-August

POSITION SUMMARY: The Turf Management Internship will assist in preparing and maintaining the UPMC Ballpark field and the campus grounds. This internship opportunity will do many additional tasks to support the Erie SeaWolves Minor League Baseball season.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled or recent graduate of a two- or four-year Turf/Horticulture program.
- Flexible schedule and available to work long hours, holidays, and weekends during Baseball season.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with game day preparation of UPMC Ball Park.
- Assist the Head Groundskeeper with non-game day field preparation, including fertilization, aerification, and sodding.
- Receive hands-on experience with spraying, irrigation maintenance, and general field upkeep.
- Set up additional events such as concerts and corporate events.
- He/she will be responsible for mowing, pruning, weeding and edging around complex grounds.
- Assist in applying clay, picking up debris, and raking/sweeping.
- He/she is responsible for set up/tear down of batting practice equipment.
- The Turf Management Intern is responsible for assisting lay down and roll up infield tarp, helping with water, and water removal.
- All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
