University Lutheran Church La Jolla, Ca is seeking a person part time (~20 hours/week) to fill the position of Director of Campus Outreach. The person would work from our church within walking distance of UC San Diego and on the UCSD campus. The candidate would lead and oversee religious and spiritual programming and be responsible for developing and implementing ministries that connect students with the Christian faith. They would provide resources for student spiritual growth and foster a sense of community
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and Implementing Campus Ministry Programs:
This includes organizing Bible studies, small groups, worship services, and other events designed to engage students.
- Building Relationships:
Cultivating strong relationships with students, faculty, and university staff to create a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Training and Equipping Student Leaders:
Providing opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills and take on leadership roles within the campus ministry.
- Discipleship and Spiritual Growth:
Facilitating spiritual growth through teaching, counseling, and mentorship, helping students deepen their faith.
- Outreach and Evangelism:
Developing strategies to reach out to students who may not be connected to the church or Christian faith.
- Collaboration with Church Leadership:
Working closely with the pastor and other church leaders to align campus ministry efforts with the church's overall mission.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Experience in youth ministry, campus ministry, or related fields.
- Faith and Character: A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to serving God.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion: A passion for reaching out to students and helping them grow in their faith.
Specific Examples of Tasks:
- Organizing and leading weekly Bible studies and small groups.
- Planning and facilitating events that are relevant and engaging for students .
- Developing and implementing a mentorship program to connect students with experienced leaders .
- Creating opportunities for students to volunteer in local outreach ministries .
- Working with students to organize and lead social events and activities .
- Compensation will be commensurate with relevant experience and education and is negotiable.
